Looking for answers? The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner over twelve, thought-provoking weekly sessions.
It is low key, friendly and fun, supported by all the main Christian denominations.
You’re not on your own either. More than two million people worldwide have found it a worthwhile experience, completing the Alpha course in churches, homes, schools, universities and prisons.
The Alpha course consists of a series of talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith.
At the beginning of each session there is a light meal together, which gives people a chance to get to know each other.
After each talk the group discusses the topic of the evening, asks questions and expresses opinions. Listen, learn, discuss and discover, ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.
Alpha is for everyone especially:
· Those wanting to investigate Christianity
· New Christians
· Newcomers to the church
· Those who want to brush up on the basics

The Bible Workshop meets from 7.30 to 9.30 on Tuesday evenings during the autumn and between Christmas and Easter.
The workshop is led by the Revd. Christopher and Mrs Audrey Wayte. They are gradually studying the whole Bible and either the Old or New Testament is included at each session.
The evening is divided into approximately five sections with passages read and commented on by different members who relate the message to life today with the help of study notes, which are provided. After each passage, there is an opportunity for discussion and questions.
The aim of the Workshops is to build a stronger faith and to see the continuing relevance of the Bible in our daily lives in a fast-moving world. By gaining an overall view of the Bible, it is hoped that members will come to a better understanding of Christianity.
The Workshops are enjoyed by those who say they “only want to listen” as well as by those who are really keen to participate actively. |
