There are two occasions in the year when Saltwood Church organise events on the Village Green.
Remembrance Sunday and Carols on the Green.

Remembrance Sunday:
On Remembrance Sunday the act of Remembrance at the war memorial is conducted by the Rector working on behalf of, and in conjunction with, Saltwood Parish Council?.

The act of remembrance on the Village Green follows an all age service in church which is attended by the Village uniformed groups and representatives from local schools. The Salvation Army band accompanies the singing of hymns and the National Anthem is sung. see photos of last years service

Carols on the Green:
On the second Tuesday in December the church arranges an open air carol service followed by hot drinks etc in the Castle Hotel.

the Salvation Army Band accompanies the carollers led by their bandmaster, Richard Carroll.

War Memorial
The Saltwood war memorial
It is a plain stone cross on a three stepped plinth standing on a triangle of land at the centre of the village.
A sword of sacrifice is carved in low releif on the front face of the cross.
In the church there are two plaques, one brass plaque for World War 1 and one stone for World War 2.

When you need practical and confidential help, Good Neighbours are at hand. Practical help like shopping for the housebound or transport for a hospital or doctor's appointment where travel is difficult can be arranged, or perhaps you just need to be able to talk with a friendly confidant.

Hospital Car Service
Within? Good Neighbours? we have a rota of volunteer drivers who are willing to take people to and from hospital and doctors? surgeries for appointments. This service is available to anyone in the Church parish of Saltwood. A contribution towards the cost of petrol is appreciated.. We would be glad to hear from any driver who would be willing to add their name to the rota. - Contact Parish office

Church Transport
This service continues to function as and when required due to the kindness of Church members. Any further offers of assistance in this matter would be much appreciated.
