GIVING |
THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GIVE,
WITH SINCERE PRAYER BEING THE MOST
PERSONAL
AND MOST TRULY DIFFICULT.
BUT PRAYER FOR THIS CHURCH,
AND FOR ITS PEOPLE,
AND FOR THE PEOPLE OF THIS
VILLAGE OF SALTWOOD,
IS AN EXPRESSION OF THE
STEADFASTNESS OF OUR PARISH.
PRAYER IS AT THE HEART OF OUR FAITH,
OUR WORSHIP
AND OURSELVES. |

BE GENEROUS,
AND YOU WILL BE PROSPEROUS.
HELP OTHERS,
AND YOU WILL BE HELPED.

There is the gift of time. Time to help this
church in whatever way any of us can,
whether it be in cleaning our pews, keeping
the graveyard tidy or passing on the gospel
the next generation. Time is what few of us
have enough of - but all of us can make more.
There is the gift of talent. The talent to create on behalf of our church, with our hands, our brains and our imaginations.
Our church needs all our talents to continue to be the focal and vital part of our community. |
Lastly there is the gift of money.
We need to give to the church as much as the church needs us to give. This gift can be given quietly and with humility. And it is the spirit of that gift, as well as the gift itself, that sustains our church. It also sustains the people and the priest of our church.
These are some of the ways of continuing the Christian stewardship here at St Peter and St Paul. Those who can give for this church by prayer, thought, word and deed will do so. That in itself is a gift. |
