Collect for St. Peter & St. Paul
Almighty God, whose blessed apostles Peter and Paul glorifed you in their death as in their life: grant that your Church, inspired by their teaching and example, and made one by your Spirit, may ever stand firm upon the one foundation, Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Why worship?
In one sense, all of life is meant to be worship, whether we are in church or not. It flows out of our personal knowledge and love of the God who created us and calls us by name. Worship is both our duty and our joy, the exuberant praise of the Psalmist expresses the delight of coming into God's presence.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100
At St. Peter and St. Paul we try to offer the best worship we can, acknowledging that we have a lot to learn this side of heaven. We offer different styles of worship through the week.
